Let’s make driving distracted socially unacceptable!
You have likely seen YouTube videos or commercials about distracted driving and probably even heard a presentation on the topic. But the number of deaths from collisions caused by distracted driving continues to rise each year. According to the Ministry of Transportation, in 2013 one person was injured every half hour due to a distracted driving collision.
What can you do?
The Impact team is tasking you to call distracted drivers out! It takes courage to do, but we believe teens can be the role models we need to make distracted driving become unacceptable. Next time you are a passenger in a vehicle and the driver looks at their phone tell them to leave it until you arrive or ask if you can write the message. Or maybe use one of the messages shown above that St. Pat’s Catholic High School students came up with to help put an end to distracted driving.
Be the one to stop distracted drivers in the act!
